Julie Jacobus - Lead Trainer
Julie has been training dogs and their people professionally for over 10 years using positive motivational techniques to train all dogs and specializing in aggression rehabilitation, and rescue/shelter dogs.
Julie graduated with honors from Animal Behavioral College is 2002 and now mentors students for A.B.C. She is a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (A.P.D.T. #66700), an American Red Cross Pet First Aid/CPR Instructor, an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen Evaluator (#11058), and performs volunteer work for many rescue groups including Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League, the Saint Mary's Animal Welfare League, Humane Society of Calvert County, and Lucky Dog Animal Rescue.
Ashley Scott - Trainer
Ashley joined the Training by Julie team in February of 2010. She has been surrounded her entire life by animals and has been training dogs for about 5 years, working with many different training methods, but honing her skills in positive reinforcement believing that positive training is going to bring out the best in every dog. She is very active in her local community, working with Calvert K9 Search Team as a Maryland State certified searcher and K9 handler. She is American Red Cross Pet First Aid/CPR certified, and is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator (#60480). Ashley has worked with many rescue dogs including dogs from Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and Southern Maryland Animal Welfare League. Ashley is our lead tracking instructor.
James Tilbrook - Trainer
James moved to Southern Maryland in September 2009 from the UK and joined the Training By Julie and Associates team in Februray 2010. He spent many years in the equine industry and gained qualifications to include teaching, and took his own dogs through advanced levels of obedience and agility. Upon his move, he decided to turn his attention to dog training.
James in a recent graduate from Animal Behavior College and is a certified companion dog trainer.
